REDS Lite 1.0 is a software product which allows the download of infraction data from our speed camera "Autovelox 105 SE" to a PC Server of the client (user). The PC Server is NOT supplied by SODI Scientifica. About security, data is encrypted and pictures are digitally signed. An Ethernet 10/100 Mbps network is needed to connect speed camera "Autovelox 105 SE" to the PC Server. Installation of the network infrastructure is on client’s charge. SODI Scientifica supplies a software code sample which can be used, by the client or by a third party appointed by him, as platform on which he can develop the decryption and verification software for the digital signature of the infraction data downloaded on the client’s server. With the product REDS Lite a sample software is supplied for the remote verification of the working state of the speed camera "Autovelox 105 SE".
This kind of connection also permits the installation of the product “Funk Proxy” which is already available for other SODI Scientifica applications. The Product “Funk Proxy” allows operation from a remote PC to the Autovelox 105 SE for the setup functions of speed limits, time and date, locality, etc…
REDS Lite 1.0 is a software product installed as Pay Option on the Autovelox 105 SE.
The software modules which compose the REDS Lite meet the following requirements:
1) it allows the handling of alarms status for Autovelox 105SE system from a remote PC
2) Download infraction data, encrypted format, on an FTP Server
3) Digital signature of photos
The first requirement is met by using a communication protocol based on TCP/IP on port 3000 and on a protocol defined by SODI Scientifica. The system of remote alarms management allows the identification of technical problems on the Autovelox 105SE.
The requirements 2 and 3 are met based on Cryptographic Algorithms triple DES 128 bit or AES 256 bit and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) using the Microsoft Crypto API cryptographic system trough the Microsoft CAPICOM interface. The files downloaded on the FTP Server will be in a format decided by Sodi Scientifica digitally encrypted and signed using the technologies described above. A special extra feature (pay option) called “PGP Encryption” allows to use the open PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) infrastructure instead of the standard PKI for both the digital signature and the data encryption.
